Adding an Alternative Contact to Your Account

On Codefling, the concept of 'Alternative Contact' extends beyond just another email for communication. It's about entrusting someone else – another user – with certain permissions to act on your behalf. This can range from viewing support requests to handling payments. Here's how to set it up.

What is an Alternative Contact?



An 'Alternative Contact' on Codefling is a user to whom you grant specific permissions on your account. Depending on what you allow, this user can:
Create support requests.
View certain or all support requests.
Handle payments, including viewing and paying invoices.

This feature can be especially handy if you're collaborating with someone or have a team member assisting with your Codefling activities.

How to Add an Alternative Contact:


Pre-requisites:
The user you wish to add as an alternative contact should have an account on codefling.com. If they don't, they'll need to create one first.

Log In to Your Account:
Navigate to codefling.com and sign in with your credentials.

Access Account Settings:
Once logged in, head over to your account settings, typically found at the top-right corner.

Locate the 'Alternative Contact' Option:
Scroll or navigate until you find the 'Alternative Contact' section.

Input the User's Email Address:
Enter the email address associated with the user's Codefling account.

Select Purchases:
Here, you can specify which of your purchases the user will have access to. They'll be able to view these selected purchases and any associated support requests. They can also reach out to support for issues tied to these purchases.

Set Additional Permissions:
View Other Support Requests: If you toggle this on, the user can see and reply to all support requests, irrespective of the selected purchases.
Handle Invoices: Activating this gives the user the ability to view all your invoices, manage payments, and even manage billing for the purchases you've selected. They'll also receive a copy of any newly generated invoice.

Save Changes:
Once you've made your selections, ensure you save the changes to update the account's alternative contact settings.


Remember to periodically review the permissions you've granted to ensure they still align with your current needs and collaborations.
